On January 17th 2023 /Tuesday/ in Shumen Art Gallery “Elena Karamihaylova” will be opened Lyudmil Chehlarov’s exhibition “The Poster”.
In December 2021 Dobrich Art Gallery received a donation from the private archive of the artist Lyudmil Chehlarov containing authors projects and posters in circulation, which in 2022 were included in a catalogue financed by National Culture Fund. The donation documents chronologically the artist’s creative path, the formation of his individual style and influence on the contemporary Bulgarian stage poster. In 180 color pages, theatrical and event posters are precisely arranged, covering the artist’s work from the 1960s to the present day.
The current exhibition is a part of Dobrich Art Gallery project realization financed by the Ministry of Culture under “Movable Cultural Heritage Presentation Activities in Museums and Art Galleries”. It includes traveling exhibitions with posters from the donation, additional events and presentation of the catalogue in several galleries around the country – Shumen, Varna, Silistra and Burgas, partners of HG – Dobrich. The entire work of Ludmil Chehlarov – a leading author in poster art – will be promoted for the first time at the national level.
