On October 5, 2023 (Thursday) at 5:30 p.m., Dobrich Art Gallery opens the exhibition “Painting” by Ivan Velchev – Yovo. The exhibition includes 32 works from different periods, presenting the author’s bright and recognizable artistic style.

Ivan Velchev was born on September 8, 1949 in Pleven.

He grew up in a musical family and in 1968 graduated from the music high school in his hometown. Subsequently, he turned to fine art, graduating from the School of Applied Arts and Crafts in Sofia in 1974. His creative pursuits and performances are in various directions – drawing, graphic design, painting, graphics, collage, photography. He participated in dozens of personal and group exhibitions, winner of prestigious national and international awards. The impressive works of Ivan Velchev – Yovo are known to the Dobrich public from his participation in the “Paper and Color” 2021 plein air in Dobrich Art Gallery. A longtime employee of “Ilia Beshkov” Art Gallery – Pleven.
