Exhibition of Lyuba Zakhova

A solo exhibition of Lyuba Zakhova opens in the Art Gallery – Dobrich on June 15, 2023 (Thursday) at 5:30 p.m. The exhibition presents 35 works, including paintings and plastics.

Lyuba Zahova was born on February 29, 1952 in Shabla.

Graduated from Dupnitza Pedagogic Institute in 1975, “Fine Arts” Department. Founder of Children’s School of Fine Arts and Art Gallery in Shabla where works until 1990. Since then, works as a free-lancer.

Makes oil on canvas landscapes, still-life and compositions. Since 1980 participates in fine arts exhibitions in Bulgaria.  Within 1990 – 1992 works in Germany where makes personal exhibitions in Schwalmtal-Amern in 2010, 2011 and 2012, in her hometown Shabla in 2012, in Mangalia (Romania) in 2013 and In Ahtopol in 2014. Takes part in the Society of Dobrich Artists’s exhibitions, in regional, national and international events. Participates in painting plain-airs and art festivals home and abroad – Tunisia (2006), Serbia (2007), RNM (2008), Ahtopol (2014). Her works are owned by art galleries and private collections in Bulgaria, Great Britain and Germany.

Member of UBA. Member of the Societies of the artists and the writers in Dobrich.

Founder and organizer of the annual “Sun Festivals” on Shabla Cape where presents the “Shabla-Mangalia” exhibitions.

In 2005 issues the book “Born near a Lighthouse” – poetry and painting.  Takes part with poetry and prose in “The Letters” Foundation almanacs (2009, 2010), the Society of writers in Dobrich (2005) and Anthologies of the Union of independent writers in Varna (2003, 2005, 2006). Publishes works in “Antimovski han” magazine and “The Letters” internet site.

Dozens of world-famous galleries’ websites show her paintings in thematic videos, calendars and art catalogs – England, France, Italy, Spain, Luxembourg, and the American site www.printpop.com sells reproductions of her canvases.

For her overall cultural activity, she was awarded the title “Honorary Citizen of the City of Shabla”.
